We stayed at the Millwright for Valentine's weekend, and the staff was gracious enough to set us up with their special Valentine's Day package even though they had been sold out already. Everything about our stay was perfect, and we both had our most memorable Valentine's Day yet. I would unreservedly recommend Hotel Millwright to anyone wishing to explore the Amanas.

The totality of the staff, room quality, amenities, and location of the Hotel Millwright receives impressive high marks. The staff we interacted with at the front desk were continually friendly and helpful and accommodating. Five stars. The rooms were impressively modern and looked renovated and were very clean. Only the total minutia I could comment on like the inside paint job of the door to the room. So many people when they travel bump them or scratch them and in they could use some touch up paint, but my gosh, the room was very beautiful and the bathroom was comparable to many five-star hotels. Also, there are a couple other details that are really a refinement that would only improve the exceptional quality of these rooms already, and I will speak with the management about that if they will call. Hands down, for a traditional and humble community like the Amana Colonies, you couldn’t stay at a a cleaner well done

We just had a beautiful Valentine’s Day there. We enjoyed champagne and chocolates and rose petals in our room. We had a beautiful dinner in the Indigo room with soup, steak and dessert. Large portions! Dessert so yummy! The staff was wonderful and efficient! Hail to the chef and kitchen. They over achieved!

Experienced Hotel Millright for my niece’s wedding. From the check in desk, to staff at restaurant, wedding venue and brunch, everything went so very smooth. Staff has been trained so very well! Beautiful, clean and charming rooms. So much history to look at throughout the hotel. Food, staff and experience of the entire weekend was top level. I can be a tough critic, but for only 2 bartenders with attitudes, which I quickly corrected, this was a true 5 star experience. Big shout out to Hunter!! Not only a great staff person, but aided a family member with the snow on her car. Hotel sits at a perfect site at the Amanas. You can walk to so many shops. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for being so warm, welcoming and friendly. We most definitely will be back, and I will share my thoughts and experiences with everyone!

This property was a total surpris e to us. It is a top notch hotel located in Amana, IA where you can walk to and from all the shopping and dining in town. The hotel itself is beautiful and built in an historic woolen mill complex and decorated with themed antiques and artworks. It has an industrial vibe without being overpowering and the 2 queen room we had was very modern and comfortable. The bathroom was large and well lit with a big walk in shower. We had breakfast there and it was also top notch. The cool part is it is well off I-80 so it is quiet and rural pastoral setting. We all agreed that we would be happy tobstay here again. The reason for our visit was an Iows football game and the 20 minute drive to town was a piece of cake.

Hotel Millwright is a rare mix of modern comfort and real history done right. The place was immaculately clean. Not just standard hotel clean, but the kind where you notice the details. Spotless floors, crisp linens, and a room that felt genuinely cared for. What really stood out was how modern everything felt without sacrificing the character of the building. You can tell they were intentional about preserving the mill’s history while still delivering updated finishes, thoughtful lighting, and a calm, upscale atmosphere. It never felt forced or gimmicky. The layout is another big plus. The rooms are spread out enough that the stay feels private and relaxed. You do not feel like you are sharing walls with everyone else. Let’s just say you can enjoy yourselves without worrying about being noticed, if you know what I mean. Wink wink. My wife and I stayed a couple of weeks before Christmas so we could do some holiday shopping and pick up stocking stuffers. We had planned on eating breakfast there, but a snowstorm must have kept most of the kitchen staff from getting in. Completely understandable given the weather and not something we held against the experience. Overall, it was a comfortable, quiet, and memorable stay with excellent cleanliness, thoughtful design, and plenty of privacy. We would absolutely stay here again.

Talk about an oasis in the desert! When you are coming up from the south among the corn and nothingness, you suddenly come to a stop sign and take a right turn into another time. A charming German-themed village of craft stores, antiques, brew pubs and hotels. Very intriguing and inviting. The hotel itself was a wool goods mill in its previous life and the facility has machinery from that era scattered around the halls. I had to stop and look at everything! Literature abounds and the history is very well presented. My room overlooked the active canal and was quite relaxing. Well appointed, large room that was quiet and secure. I would recommend this location to anyone whether on business or pleasure. Fantastic. Pics were of the entry lane coming into the complex. Very cool in the snow!

This place is really cool! The architecture, restoration work & renovation to the buildings absolutely create an authentic sense of the property's importance in Amana's textile manufacturing history. Our interactions with the staff were both friendly & accommodating; our room was large, clean & comfortable, too! And Hotel Millwright's location is perfectly situated within walking distance to most of Amana's other venues, including food, museums, art, shopping & weekend music. Would wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Millwright as an overnight stay!
